A Tool for Design of Distributed Genetic Algorithms on WWW

چکیده

This paper presents a WWW-accessible tool for design of both sequential and distributed genetic algorithms. It is available to everyone with a Web browser supporting Java and allows the user to construct, execute, observe and tune genetic algorithms through WWW pages interactively. Distributed genetic algorithms are realized on the tool by multithreading and remote objects in Java. We also present an application of the tool to the design and prototyping of a genetic algorithm for motion planning of the autonomous underwater vehicle which is under development at the University of Hawaii. To visualize how a solution to motion planning is changed by a genetic algorithm, a path in 3D space is represented in VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) and displayed by using a scripting language JavaScript and a plug-in Live3D.
